Process or task name:
Always double check your task spelling if you are concerned about spyware or viruses, as often they use similiar spelling for these windows processes and tasks: cisvc.exe
Exe program - Files with an extension of "exe" are executable programs.
Purpose of this file:
cisvc.exe is a file which may have been on your computer since the day you purchased but may also have arrived from installed programs. Always verify the disk and folder location, this is important for verifying your file is in the correct location and is not virus or spyware related. This cisvc.exe file is used as part of an indexing service within windows and is part of your operating system. Note that many people have reported keyloggers using the cisvc.exe name and location. I myself have not seen this, but if you have any concern I would recommend actually renaming the cisvc.exe file to something like cisvcBACKUP.exe. This way you can always go back and rename it and reboot to have your system back the way it was, and if your system is running fine with it renamed then simply leave with the backup name in it so cisvc.exe is no longer running. (It won't be running with the name changed as the startup will not find it).
Visit cisvc.exe for complete information on this task or process.
